Women in Balance is guided by leading health and wellness experts‹educators, doctors, clinical researchers, and allied health professionals.


Jane Murray, MD, Chair
Dr. Murray is a family physician with a strong interest in women's health, especially a woman's journey through the menopause transition. As Medical Director of the Sastun Center of Integrative Health Care in Overland Park, Kansas, she takes a holistic approach to patient issues, creating an individualized plan for each patient. She serves as Medical Editor for the FP Audio Continuing Medical Education (CME) program of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a Clinical Professor of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Dr. Murray started Women in Balance with other like-minded colleagues because she believes it is crucial for women and health professionals to have access to unbiased information about all hormone options, to help with the symptoms and distressing problems so many women encounter at midlife. She has no affiliation with any proprietary entity, drug company, or any product or device manufacturer.

Deb Soholt, RN, MS
Deb Soholt is a registered nurse with more than twenty years of business and clinical leadership experience in advancing new care models for women's health, with a focus on midlife health issues As the Director of Women's Health for Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Ms. Soholt led the development of a next-generation, primary care clinic for women in hormonal transition. Sheis also President for the South Dakota Board of Nursing and co-host of House Calls, a weekly health information radio show, now in podcast.

Through her work, Ms. Soholt has seen thousands of women regain hormone balance through individualized therapy. She volunteers her expertise to Women in Balance because she wants to see those options become available to women everywhere. She is not affiliated with any proprietary entity, drug company, or any product or device manufacturer.
 
 
Sharon MacFarland
Sharon MacFarland is a women's health advocate who passionately feels that women deserve options to help them be at their best at midlife and beyond.

She honors the belief that women are strong, powerful, filled with wisdom, and highly intuitive about their own health needs. She is owner and CEO of Emerita, a company based in Portland, Oregon, that develops personal products for midlife women's health.

Co-founder of Women in Balance, Ms. MacFarland wants to help women find their optimal health and balance. She feels that a huge chasm was created after WHI, and that the information being disseminated narrowed a great deal. She sees a real need for additional research and education on hormone balance options for women, and she wants to help shape that agenda.
